What are the Documents Required for Visa Appointment in India?

Flying to other countries at least once has always been on all of our bucket lists and who knows when this dream might come true. None of us would ever want to delay or compromise on anything when it comes to fulfilling our dreams like these.

Being prepared with all our documents beforehand becomes a necessity in such a situation. Which is when Tourisa stands right beside you to provide you with entire guidance and end-to-end assistance to make the process easier for you.

Now, if you have decided to travel across the world and take your first steps outside the country for holiday, some kind of an event, visiting a relative, or maybe a medical treatment, you must quickly work on getting a Tourist Visa.

Documents Required for Visa

Applying for a tourist visa might seem hectic work but not with us. To get a tourist visa you must first apply by filling out an application form and paying the fee. After the payment, you must schedule your Visa Appointment in India at the concerned embassy or you can also approach Visa Consultancy Services to book your appointment.

However, before visiting, you must prepare and keep aside all the Documents for your Visa, that you may need on the day of your interview. These are mentioned as below-

  • Valid Passport (current and old passports).
  • Copy of your appointment letter.
  • Application fee payment receipt.
  • Your photographs (always keep a few with you to be on the safer side).
  • Current income proof, tax payments, ownership of business or property, or assets.
  • Travel itinerary and other explanations for the trip you have planned.
  • Court or criminal records in case of conviction/arrest anywhere. It has to be provided even if you were pardoned or have completed your sentence period.

Apart from these, you may also need to carry some supporting documents so that you need not rush back home in the time of need. These will depend on who the applicant is,

  • If you are a working adult get a letter from the employer mentioning your designation, salary, employment period, authorized vacation (if any), and your recent 3 months’ payslips.
  • If you are a student, you should bring your recent school result, diplomas/degrees, and transcripts. You should also get financial proof such as bank statements (monthly), FD (fixed deposits) slips, etc.
  • If you have visited the concerned country before, you have to bring any document that proves your visa or immigration status.
  • If you are visiting a relative, you should get a copy of your relative’s status proof. For example – valid visa, Green Card, Naturalization certificate, etc.

Based on this interview, the consular officer will decide if you qualify to get the visa or not. If your visa is approved, you will have to pay a visa issuance fee. And you are finally ready to fly away.

But doesn’t it seem to be a lot of work when in fact you are trying to take a break from all of it? Don’t worry, we got your back. The entire process can be completed while you sit back and relax and we provide you with an uncompromised visa service at your doorstep.
